The Loopwing Emerger is a classic transitional pattern that imitates mayflies as they struggle through the final stage of emergence. It’s most effective when trout are ignoring fully emerged duns and instead keying on insects stuck just below the surface.
This particular variation is best fished in tandem as a point fly with an additional BWO nymph dropper, or as a dropper beneath a BWO dry.
