paper texture
Mango Creek Lodge is located on the far eastern end of Roatán–one of the beautiful Bay Islands of Honduras. Surrounded by productive flats, this small and intimate lodge operation is a great choice for anglers, non-anglers, and families alike. Unspoiled by development, the east end of Roatán is an angler and divers paradise: the ideal destination for those looking to get away from it all. Fishermen can expect great opportunities for bonefish and permit, with plenty of wade fishing.

Lodging Details
Mango Creek Lodge’s signature accommodations are its over-the-water stilt cabanas. Set on pilings and built directly over the waters of Roatán’s Port Royal, these beautiful rooms offer guests a comfortable and relaxing home base for their daily adventures. There is nothing quite like going to sleep at night with the sounds of the water and feeding baitfish directly below your bed! The cabana interiors feature Honduran hardwood floors, mahogany and cedar louvered windows, and unique hand-carved doors, trims, and furniture. Each room features a queen bed, a single bed, a private bathroom, hot water, ceiling fans, and reading lights. The cabanas are wired for 110-volt electricity and are fully screened. The exteriors include a small, private, over-the-water deck with great views of the surrounding ocean and reef.  Each deck contains a hammock, a freshwater rinse shower, and a ladder for swimming.

The main lodge, located just up the hill, is surrounded by tropical vegetation and features marble floors and hand-carved furniture. The open-air patio is a wonderful spot to kick back and relax, and the enclosed patio offers the ideal meeting spot for post-fishing beers, group retreats, or family gatherings. The main lodge also has a large interior lounging area as well as a private dining room for group dinners.

Food and Beverages
Mango Creek Lodge’s restaurant and bar is the epicenter for the lodge and a popular place for guests to enjoy lively conversation, cocktails, and cold Honduran beers. Like the individual cabanas, this building is set on pilings over the water, providing expansive views of Roatan’s Port Royal Harbor, Lime Cay, and the nearby “Breakfast Flats.” The restaurant serves three meals a day, all made from scratch in the attached kitchen. Hot, American-style breakfasts are served until 9:30 AM. Lunch is served at 12:30 PM in-house or can be packed as a cooler lunch for anglers or those that want to tour the island. Dinner is usually at 6:00 PM and includes plenty of fresh seafood dishes. All meals are typically set menus, but the lodge is happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions with advanced notice. Desserts such as homemade key lime, coconut pie, and chocolate cake are served nightly.

Typical Length of Stay
No restrictions or limitations on the length of stay and guests can arrive and depart on any day of the week. Please call Yellow Dog for details.

Non-Angling Activities and Options
For non-anglers, the Bay Islands offer a large number of activities and attractions. The three main islands of Roatan, Guanaja, and Utila are rated among the world’s top dive destinations and are the perfect place for either beginner or experienced divers and snorkelers. Roatan’s mountainous terrain and pristine reef make it an ideal place for eco-adventures as well, and Mango Creek Lodge is ideally located to take advantage of all types of activities. Located on the shores of Port Royal beneath the Port Royal Wildlife Refuge on Roatan’s secluded East End, Mango Creek Lodge offers an array of outdoor activities and adventures for all guests. Roatan’s snorkeling is world-class. Located on the world’s second-largest barrier reef, the island offers numerous options for discovering the Western Caribbean’s amazing coral and fish species. Kayaking is also a great way to explore the shores and reefs of the east end. Mango Creek Lodge offers excursions for sightseeing, snorkeling, and fishing by kayak. As a guest of Mango Creek, you too can also enjoy sailing the beautiful bay of Port Royal. Hikers can explore Roatan and take full advantage of the lodge’s prime location and the steep terrain and lush vegetation of the East End. Mango Creek Lodge also offers several boat tours to allow guests to experience this unique part of Roatan.
