Description
The Freestone is Simms' everyday stockingfoot wader, built with a 4-layer Toray QuadraLam construction across both the upper and lower body for consistent, durable waterproof protection from chest to ankle. Front and back leg seams -- a placement used across Simms' wader lineup -- keep stress off the high-wear inner and outer leg during a full day of wading.
The upper chest pocket array includes a top-access stretch woven storage pocket, micro-fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets, and an integrated loop fly patch, alongside a built-in Tippet Tender Pocket for keeping spools organized. Stretch elastic suspenders with Simms' custom opposing male and female buckles allow quick on and off, and dual rear belt loops hold the included 38mm stretch elastic wading belt for fit and added safety.

Size Guide
Simms sizes the Tributary using a combined size code that pairs torso girth and stockingfoot size together, along with an independent crotch-to-floor length. Follow these steps to find your closest size in the chart below.
1. Measure your torso girth around the fullest part of your chest and shoulders, worn over what you'd normally wear underneath your waders.
2. Note your regular street shoe size to find your stockingfoot size range.
3. Measure your inseam from crotch to floor, standing barefoot, to find your length category (Short, Regular, or Long).
4. Find the row in the Sizing Guide below where your torso girth, stockingfoot size, and length line up most closely.

FAQ
Who are these waders for?
The Freestone is Simms' everyday, mid-tier stockingfoot wader -- a step up from the entry-level Tributary in fabric weight and pocket layout, built for anglers who wade regularly across a range of conditions without needing the added features of a guide-grade or expedition-tier wader.
What is Toray QuadraLam and how does the 4-layer construction work?
Toray QuadraLam is a 4-layer waterproof, breathable fabric used across both the upper and lower body of the Freestone -- unlike waders that step down to a lighter upper panel, the Freestone runs the same 4-layer construction throughout for consistent durability from chest to ankle.
What are the front and back leg seams and why are they distinctive to Simms waders?
Simms builds the Freestone with front and back leg seams rather than a single side seam construction -- a seam placement the brand uses across its wader lineup. Positioning seams away from the high-wear inner and outer leg reduces the stress placed on any one seam line during the repeated bending and stretching of a day spent wading.
How does this compare to the Simms Tributary Waders?
Both are stockingfoot waders, but they sit at different tiers. The Tributary uses a 3-layer upper and 4-layer lower construction, a single rear belt loop, and is made without intentionally added PFAS, at 32.7 oz. The Freestone steps up to a full 4-layer Toray QuadraLam construction throughout, dual rear belt loops with an included stretch elastic belt, a Tippet Tender Pocket, and a heavier 42.0 oz build -- but is made with PFAS chemicals rather than a PFAS-free treatment. Choose the Tributary for a lighter, PFAS-free, more affordable option. Choose the Freestone for heavier-duty fabric and a more built-out pocket system.
