Description
Veevus is a premium fly tying thread from Denmark, known for its exceptional strength-to-diameter ratio, smooth lay, and wide range of sizes and colors. Veevus has earned a reputation as the strongest thread on the market for its diameter, creating strong tie-in points with minimal thread buildup. It has quickly become an industry favorite.
Veevus Thread Size Guide
- 16/0: Ultra-fine; best for tiny dries, midges, and small emergers. Practically zero thread buildup at this size.
- 14/0: Great for small-to-medium dry flies and delicate nymphs; very strong for its diameter.
- 12/0: A versatile fine thread for dries and nymphs up to mid-sizes.
- 10/0: Strong enough for most standard trout flies.
- 8/0: The workhorse size; ideal for just about everything such as nymphs, wet flies, ants and beetles, and small streamers.
- 6/0: Stronger thread for streamers, hoppers, and saltwater patterns.
- 3/0: Heavy-duty thread for big streamers, saltwater patterns, deer hair flies, and other bulkier ties requiring maximum strength.
