Protect America's "Salmon Country" and Fishing Paradise

May 03, 23
One of the world's greatest fishing destinations is being threatened. Yet even during these hectic times of the Covid-19 pandemic, we need to be vigilant to ensure to protect the wild salmon, jobs, world-class fishing opportunity, and local cultures that depend on Bristol Bay, Alaska.

Taking a few minutes out of your day right now to sign the petition to Save Bristol Bay. may help protect this special place forever. Facilitated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers within the Trump Administration, the review process for the Pebble Mine permit has been rushed, incomplete, and deeply flawed.

As the permit application review nears completion, the President needs to hear from Americans across the country who are opposed to development that will decimate a world-class fishing and hunting destination, and allow a foreign mining company to develop our resources at the expense of American jobs and business. Quintessentially wild, southwestern Alaska is an anglers paradise, where trophy trout thrive and wild salmon turn rivers red.

Our friends at Trout Unlimited are leading the efforts to ensure that the clean water and pristine fish habitat that makes Bristol Bay a sportsman's paradise can continue for years to come. Sign the petition TODAY to stop the proposed Pebble mine from being developed. The mine's massive open-pit large-scale impact will be felt for generations.

The foreign-owned mine poses an immediate threat to the fish, people, and fish-based industries in Bristol Bay. This year, we will know if the mine will be granted a key federal permit to begin digging in the headwaters of this incredible fishery. Hunters and anglers have been at the forefront of the efforts to stop the mine for nearly a decade, and we must come out again to make sure the President knows we will not sit quietly while a foreign mining company ruins one of the most prized place we fish.

We are asking you to stand with us and so many others to make sure that wild fish, a thriving sport fishing tourism industry, and a place that is truly one of the last “wild” places on the planet continues to inspire our fishing dreams. Please, before it is too late, do as we did and add your name to the petition today.
