Giant Trevally Flies

Giant trevally are one of the most aggressive saltwater species, known for crushing flies with explosive strikes. GT flies must be large, durable, and tied on extra-strong saltwater hooks, often 6/0–8/0.

Most GT patterns are 6–12 inches long.

Staple patterns include large baitfish streamers, brush flies, beast fleyes, and big poppers.

All black and combinations of black, chartreuse, white, and tan are proven GT colors.

These are heavy-duty flies fished with 11–12 weight rods, large-arbor reels with strong drags, and heavy leaders (130 lb+). The flies must be tied tough to survive repeated punishment.
