Ideal Location to Explore The Best of Guatemala
On the front steps of Pacific Fins luxury resort, lie some of the best opportunities for outdoor adventure that the Guatemala coast has to offer. During a week with Pacific Fins, you may find yourself casting a fly to sailfish, yellowfin tuna, or mahi-mahi, exploring the Mayan ruins, or relaxing poolside. Experienced anglers rate Guatemala the #1 sportfishing destination in the world because it is THE “hot spot” for large numbers of Pacific sailfish. No place in the world offers more raises, bites, and releases than in Guatemala. And when it comes to sailfishing – the experienced fleet at Pacific Fins averages an incredible 15 to 20 bites a day. At Pacific Fins, the guides, equipment, accommodations, and location are at their very best, and together, make this experience one to remember. Best of all, travel logistics here are easy, not requiring travelers to spend an extra night in the main city upon arrival, like in Costa Rica or Panama. This means that relaxation and adventure at Pacific Fins are only a chauffeured drive (complete with cold beverages) away.

General Information
The Pacific coast of Guatemala features some of the world’s most consistently calm billfishing waters. Fishing in Guatemala normally takes place in an area called the “Pocket,” a deep underwater canyon that is 30 NM wide. Many days fishing will start just 12 to 15 miles offshore on the tip of the canyon. Other days, the guides may run as far as 40 miles if that’s what it takes to put you on the fish.
Pacific Fins is an excellent location for experienced and beginner fly anglers alike to pursue marlin with opportunities for dorado and tuna as well. While this type of fly fishing presents its own unique challenges, you will have a highly-experienced crew by your side to ensure a great time. During the day your crew will serve you a hot lunch, snacks, and fresh fruit. They will also prepare fresh ceviche or sashimi right in the galley. Of course, beer and soda will also be available. Combine this great fishery with the comfort and hospitality of the Resort and you have a recipe for an incredible fishing experience.
Boats and Equipment
Pacific Fins’ fleet features the newest, fastest, and most luxurious sportfishing yachts in Guatemala. Every boat is meticulously maintained for your comfort and safety. All boats are equipped with top-of-the-line gear and tackle and the crews are the best in the world, with each boat featuring an experienced Captain and two excellent mates.
