The El Dorado Deceiver is one of our Top Golden Dorado Flies, modeled after the popular Andino Deceiver, with a similar profile and swimming action. At roughly six inches in length, it provides the long, substantial look needed to get the attention of golden dorado in heavy currents.

The fly is tied with a spun deer hair head and collar, which adds buoyancy and helps the pattern push water. The tail combines hackle feathers for movement with accents of peacock herl and Krystal Flash to catch light and serve as subtle attractors. These materials give the fly a natural baitfish profile with just enough shimmer to stand out in stained water.

Tied on the ever-reliable Tiemco 600SP, this is a fantastic fly for targeting golden dorado in places like Argentina, Uruguay, or in heavy flows in the jungles of Bolivia.
