Trip Overview
Southern Oman is one of the most remote and visually dramatic saltwater fly fishing destinations on the planet — a rugged coastline where towering desert mountains, white sand beaches, and rocky headlands meet the Arabian Sea. Centered around the small fishing village of Hasik in the Dhofar region, this program offers an exceptionally diverse and highly visual fishery focused on inshore species such as Africanus permit, Indo-Pacific permit, Two Bar Bream, triggerfish, trevally, parrotfish, and broomtail wrasse. What truly separates Hasik from other Oman fisheries is the consistency and accessibility of its beach wading opportunities, with anglers regularly walking expansive shorelines and shallow structure in search of cruising fish in crystal-clear water. Combined with comfortable accommodations, custom-built fly fishing boats, and a truly wild and untouched setting, Hasik delivers one of the most unique sight-fishing experiences anywhere in the world.

Lodging Details
Accommodations in Hasik are clean, comfortable, and purpose-built for anglers exploring Southern Oman’s remote coastline. Guests stay in a private villa-style setup designed to maximize time on the water while providing comfortable lodging in one of the most remote and visually striking fisheries in the world.

The lodge features five double rooms and three bathrooms, one of which is ensuite. While simple compared to a traditional luxury lodge, the operation remains intentionally small, with a maximum of four anglers and two boats operating at any given time.

The operation is centered around the small fishing village of Hasik, located roughly two hours east of Salalah along the Dhofar coastline. Surrounded by dramatic desert mountains, white sand beaches, and rocky headlands, the setting feels incredibly wild and untouched.

Food and Beverages
Breakfast is included as part of the package, while lunches typically consist of lighter meals such as sandwiches, salads, and fruit organized daily for anglers on the water. Additional meals can be arranged through surrounding local restaurants upon request. Cold drinking water is provided daily on the boats.

Typical Length of Stay
Trips are typically offered as either 3-day or 6-day fishing packages, with accommodations, transportation, boats, and guide service included.

The Dhofar region is one of the most scenic and culturally unique areas in Oman, featuring towering mountains, white sand beaches, and dramatic rocky coastline. Guests can explore nearby beaches, coastal villages, and surrounding desert landscapes, or simply enjoy the region’s remarkable scenery and wildlife. Additional tourist attractions and customized arrangements can also be coordinated upon request.

How to Get There
Guests fly internationally into Salalah, Oman. The program commonly utilizes Fly Dubai, Air Arabia, and Oman Air, with flights typically routing through Dubai, Sharjah, or Muscat depending on schedules. From Salalah, guests are transferred approximately two hours east along the coast to Hasik.

All airport transfers and transportation throughout the program are coordinated by the outfitter.

Arrival and Departure Details / Times
Guests can transfer from Salalah Airport to Hasik on the same day regardless of arrival time. The latest commonly used arrival is typically the Qatar Airways flight arriving around 10:00 PM, and after clearing immigration and customs, guests generally arrive in Hasik between 1:00 and 2:00 AM following the roughly 2.5-hour drive.

Guests may choose to overnight in Salalah prior to transferring to Hasik, though hotel accommodations in Salalah are not included as part of the standard package.

Trips are structured around full-day charters, with fishing days generally consisting of approximately nine hours on the water.

Documents Required
Travelers must carry a passport with a minimum of six months validity and at least two blank passport pages. Many nationalities can obtain a single-entry Oman visa online prior to arrival, though requirements vary by country.

Travel insurance and Medivac coverage are required for all guests.

General Information
Southern Oman is one of the most unique saltwater fly fishing destinations on the planet — a rugged, remote fishery where dramatic desert mountains meet the Arabian Sea. Ocean Active Fly has operated in the region since 2005 and has developed an exceptionally diverse species-driven fishery centered around the Dhofar coastline and the village of Hasik.

This is first and foremost a sight-fishing destination focused on inshore species. The fishery is especially well known for Africanus permit, Indo-Pacific permit, and Two Bar Bream, along with opportunities for trevally, Omani bream, Spangled Emperor, triggerfish, queenfish, parrotfish, broomtail wrasse, and various pelagic species.

Beach fishing itself is optional but can be particularly productive toward the latter stages of the incoming push tide. If anglers would like to specifically focus on beach sessions, the guides can accommodate those requests, though these opportunities are often incorporated opportunistically when returning early and conditions align. The combination of remote coastline, diverse species, and highly visual fishing scenarios makes this one of the most technical and rewarding saltwater programs available anywhere in the world.

Compared to nearby Salalah fisheries, the fishing around Hasik is generally less tide dependent, allowing for more flexibility throughout the day. At present, the operation relies on beach launches for accessing the fishery.

The season generally runs from September through April, with October through April offering the most stable weather conditions and average temperatures between 25–32°C (77–89°F).

Boats and Equipment
The operation utilizes custom-built 24-foot and 27-foot center console boats designed specifically for fly fishing in Southern Oman. These boats accommodate two anglers and one crew member and feature elevated casting platforms, rod storage, Garmin electronics, Yeti coolers, satellite phones, and full safety equipment.

The boats are lightweight enough to trailer to productive water and maneuver effectively in shallow environments, allowing anglers to access a wide variety of beaches, rocky structure, and inshore habitat throughout the region.

Loaner rods and reels are available for anglers if needed.

Remember that Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with the lodge or outfitter. All prices listed below are per person and quoted in US dollars.

OMAN TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CANCELLATIONS
For all trips, full payment is required to secure guides and reservations. Yellow Dog strongly recommends that anglers and guests purchase travel insurance for this trip. For all Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures, L.L.C. (YDFA) Oman trip fishing packages, both deposits and final payments are non-refundable inside of 90 days from the scheduled trip date(s) unless a client is replaced. Both deposit and final payment can be transferred to another client for the same (original) dates. Cancellations must be covered by travel insurance. The outfitter reserves the right to cancel a trip due to bad weather conditions and safety issues. If outfitter cancels a trip due to weather, sea state or instructions from authorities this will be done as early as possible and will be confirmed with the client. Outfitter will offer to either provide another suitable date or, failing that, 50% credit for the value of the trip. If neither alternative is suitable no refund will be forthcoming so ensure that travel insurance covers this eventuality. Yellow Dog reserves the right to charge a minimum handling fee of $100.00 per person for date changes after the initial reservation has been made. Receipt of deposit and/or final payment is acknowledgment that registrant has read and accepts the deposit, cancellation, refund and responsibility clauses for these packages.

Payment Terms for All Yellow Dog Trip Bookings  
Unless otherwise noted on your invoice, for all trips less than 90 days out, full payment is required after receipt of the confirmation email to secure guides and reservations. For trips outside of 90 days, a 50% deposit is required upon receipt of confirmation email to confirm your reservations.
