A new design of Hatch's ever popular Nomad pliers creates exciting options for the avid angler. Utilizing Tungsten Carbide cutters in a new side cutting position makes reliable cuts through all fishing line material easier than ever. Gripping grooves added to the jaw tips easily grasp knot tag ends for ideal rigging. The I-Beam arms are crafted from 6061-T6 Aluminum and protected with Type II anodize. A new Misted finish for 2019 gives extra texture, keeping Nomad pliers from slipping out of wet hands.
*NOMAD PLIERS COME WITH A CUSTOM HATCH BUNGEE LANYARD AND A BLACK Nylon SHEATH*
Black Sheath: Belt Loop Dimensions best suit a 1.25-1.5" wide belt
Great plier. Finish and precision of how the jaws are aligned is definitely a “cut above” lesser pliers. Yes, they do cost a lot relative to the everyday fishing ploer, but i think for the avid angler they are worth it when they are still less expensive than a good rod and reel. And i have multiple rods and reels when i go fish, but usually just one plier on me. I just wish they still came with a nice leather sheath. I do know there are plenty of aftermarket companies that make a leather sheath for this plier that specialize in fine leather, though.
Thie Hatch Nomad plier is sturdy. We've already taken them to Bolivia for golden dorado. Each plier comes with a sheath that easily attaches to a belt and a bungee lanyard. I've also used these in the salt and when handling fish, this definitely comes in handy. I've used other saltwater pliers from Simms and Orvis, but had issues with them breaking, locking up, or quickly eroding. I can tell these are incredibly well made. The groove at the front helps cinch down knots when tying leaders, it's easy to cut line with the side cutters, and it works well to quickly pop a fly out of a fish's mouth. I just rinse them off after each outing, and they continue to perform just the way I need them to.
