We are proud to welcome Soul Fly Lodge as our newest offering in The Bahamas for 2022! The Berry Islands have historically been well-known to produce trophy-sized bonefish in a fishery that consists of shallow, white-sand flats.
In addition, The Berry Islands also has a true trophy-sized permit fishery that is just recently being uncovered by fly anglers. With the minimal DIY fishing access combined with the absence of fly-focused guides in the Berry Islands, the surrounding waters haven't experienced the same fishing pressure as many of the other Out Islands.
This is a very special fishery located only a quick, twenty-minute flight north of Andros. Previously known as the Carriearl Roost, Kyle Schaefer's Soul Fly Lodge was recently renovated in 2020. Four double occupancy rooms all feature large private bathrooms, air conditioning, and plenty of space for your gear.
The main lodge space has two sitting areas, a fly-tying station, a large dining room that is open to the public on weekends, and an all-inclusive, well-stocked “help yourself” bar. Steps from the bar is a pool with a wraparound deck, which gives way to a path down to the white sand beach ideal for swimming.
