WANTED FEEDBACK: CANADA CONSIDERING LISTING BULL TROUT AS THREATENED Species at Risk Act (SARAH)
The Canadian Government is considering listing the Bull Trout as threatened under the Species at Risk Act (SARA) and is currently soliciting feedback regarding this pressing issue. The greatest threats to the Bull Trout are habitat fragmentation and non-native species.Additionally, man-made infrastructure projects pose a threat to the Bull Trout due to pollution, increased water temperatures, and barriers to fish movement. If listed under SARA, Canadian Oceans and Fisheries will collaborate with stakeholders and develop a strategy to recover and preserve the Bull Trout. Please take a moment to fill out this short survey; it only takes a few seconds. They are interested in hearing feedback from people outside Canada as they try to measure the cost/benefit of a potential listing.
