Hosted Trip to Australia's East Coast Angling Liveaboard

Join Yellow Dog’s very own Alec Gerbec on a once in a lifetime hosted trip to the east coast of Australia in search of Blue Bastards, Indo Pacific permit, and more. This hosted trip with East Coast Angling is a 10 night / 9 fishing day expedition where 6 adventurous anglers will have a chance to extensively explore the flats of the Great Barrier reef. Due to its remoteness and vast amount fishing grounds, this trip will utilize a liveaboard in order to have the ability to provide new areas each day of the trip. 

Dates: 10 nights / 9 days October 13 -23, 2024

Itinerary:

• October 12, 2024 – Arrive in Cairns at any time to spend the night in order to catch the charter flight to Lockhart River the following day.
• October 13, 2024 – Depart Cairns and arrive to Lockhart river to board the mothership vessel. Set Sail for fishing grounds and tackle setup.
• October 14 – 22, 2024 – Nine (9) full days of guided flyfishing.
• October 23, 2024 – Arrive back to Lockhart river and depart to Cairns.

Accommodations: The Savannah is an 80ft luxury expedition vessel that is a motorized yacht that offers spacious well-appointed rooms, dining, and deck areas for the discerning angler. three very comfortable staterooms. shared twin.

Food and Beverages: With a professional chef onboard there will never be a lack of great cuisine. Dishes will be prepared with fresh seasonal produce and local ingredients. All soft drinks and beer are included.

-October 14 - 22: Nine (9) full days of guided flyfishing.
-October 23: Depart MV Savannah

How To Get There
The guests will fly via private charter flight from Cairns on the 13th of October up to Lockhart River, they will be met by 4x4 transfer and driven 40 mins north through up to Portland Roads where they will then be greeted by the guides and taken onboard the mothership via our center consoles. On the 23rd of October it will be the same process in reverse once leaving the mothership. The baggage weight for these flights is 45kg per person giving every angle ample weight for their fishing gear.

We advise that the guests arrive in Cairns the day prior and leave the day after their trip. This will allow for any delays in international or domestic flights. There is a large range of accommodation options in Cairns and the Cairns Central Business District is only a 1-minute drive from the airport.

2024 Rates:
10 nights/9 days Fishing Package = $15,500.00 per person, shared twin. Only six(6) anglers + host per charter ensure an exclusive and unique experience.

Exclusions:
- Rods, reels, tackle, and flies. We have a large range onboard for you to purchase if you’d like.
- Wine & spirits (this can be pre-arranged prior to the trip).
- Travel and medical insurance are compulsory.
- International flights to and from Australia.
- Any food or accommodations prior or post the fishing package dates.
