Matt and Tara recently returned from a trip to Raudholar Lodge through the Reykjavik Angling Club and had a terrific time pursing Iceland’s fabled brown trout. As Matt says, “If your dreams consist of monster brown trout taking the dry fly, while feeling like you’re the only person left in the world… then this is where those dreams are made. EPIC!” As far as guides are concerned, “Our guide is the guide of the guides in this area. He was born in that valley and has fished it for over 35 years. It’s his river as far as me and my wife were concerned and he knew every hole in it! We feel that we left not only being educated on that water but, as well as gaining a friend.”
He went on to say, “These are some of the best people on the planet- made this southern couple feel right at home.” And when asked if they’d ever recommend the destination to a friend the answer was, “YES.” Anglers can expect to have sections of the river totally to themselves each day, with some of the most scenic backdrops and landscapes found anywhere in the world of freshwater fishing.
