Our friends at El Pescador Lodge continue to provide amazing fishing and lodging experiences for our travelers -- Read about Jeff C.'s experience below:
Did you find the trip booking process through Yellow Dog enjoyable and useful? If not, please share why.
- Incredibly easy and simple to book through Yellow Dog. Having the in country transfer handled for us was a nice benefit
Were the Yellow Dog pre-trip planning packet(s) and travel itinerary you received for your trip helpful and accurate? If not, how could it be improved?
- 100% accurate. Easy to follow and share amongst our group.
Did the lodging (rooms, dining area, social area, etc) match what you were expecting? If not, please provide additional comments or constructive feedback.
- El Pescador was awesome. Food surpassed our expectations, staff were friendly and helpful. We truly loved the lodge and would like to return in the future.

Did the food (breakfast, lunch, dinner) match what you were expecting? If not, please provide additional comments or constructive feedback.
- Food surpassed our expectations. Only one meal wasn’t something I enjoyed, but that’s just because I personally don’t like chicken with skin on. Other guys in the group enjoyed it.
Do you have any comments or constructive feedback based on the service, friendliness, etc of the lodge staff?
- There were no downsides to our trip other than the weather, but that’s out of everyone’s hands.
Were you pleased with your guide(s) customer service, communication skills, professionalism, work ethic, and general fishing knowledge? If not, please share why.
- Roger was my guide all three days and I can’t sing his praises enough. We successfully landed a triple digit tarpon and he worked hard to get me on fish and coach me through the process. Eban and Mariano were also excellent hosts/instructors.
What key piece(s) of gear, tackle, flies, soft goods, etc. made your trip successful?
- Rain gear and submersible packs. Without those, our trip would have been a washout.
Would you return to this destination? Please share why or why not.
- 100% would return.
About the Lodge: El Pescador Lodge, in business for over 40 years, is one of the best-run, most famous fly fishing lodges in all of Central America. Situated only 15 minutes by light aircraft from Belize City on the island of Ambergris Caye, the lodge offers world-class sight fishing for The Big Three: tarpon, permit, and bonefish. El Pescador Lodge was one of the original properties that we worked with, and it remains one of our all-time favorite destinations.
