REDBONES: AUCTION WINNER REPORTING FROM FAY RANCH AND THE RUBY RIVER
A huge thanks out to Fay Ranches for hosting Paul Dixon and his sons from a past Redbone "To Catch the Cure" for Cystic Fibrosis live auction item. Paul purchased a day on the Ruby River and a day floating with Ian Davis from Yellow Dog at this past February’s Andros Island "Big Yard" Classic. This was Andros Island's first opportunity to host a Redbone event. The event was held at Swain's Cay Lodge, had 22 anglers participating over three days of fishing, and raised over $21,000.00 for research to fight cystic fibrosis. The weather was challenging, but the fish numbers were strong due to the outstanding efforts of the Bahamian captains.
Clouds, rain, and wind make it virtually impossible to see feeding bonefish from a distance, but the guides battled the conditions and amazingly produced each day. In three days 68 bonefish were landed, two double digit fish, and all in record cold 50 degree Bahamian temperatures! This is a testament to the professionalism of the bonefish captains on Mangrove Cay. Click here to learn more about Swain's Cay Lodge
These photos are from the actual auction item of two days of fishing in Montana. Thanks to Paul Dixon for donating to the Redbone Foundation. Yellow Dog Flyfishing Adventures is proud to assist Redbone in hosting the Andros Island “Big Yard” Bonefish Classic, and raising funds to beat cystic fibrosis.
This year’s event will be back at the wonderful Swain’s Cay Lodge February 17 – 21, 2016.
