THE LUCKY PERMIT, A CLEINT STORY | EAST END LODGE REPORT

The good folks over at the East End Lodge just sent us in a good fish story. If you're not familiar with the EEL, here is the quick 411. The East End Lodge is a high-quality fishing focused destination where you can expect to fish long days with an experienced guide staff. You will then return home to the lodge to enjoy great food, a full bar, and beautiful, spacious rooms that overlook the water. The lodge is very close to some of the most beautiful and productive flats on the island, and close to the five bights that cut through the “horn” of the island on the East End. This multi-bight fishery enables the guides to fish optimal tides throughout the day, typically keeping clients on fish and in the action regardless of what the tides are doing at any given time. Travel is easy to Freeport, Grand Bahama so this is a perfect destination for quick two and three-day trips, as well as weeklong excursions. All of this at the best price point on Grand Bahama, if not all of the Bahamas. East End Lodge Reports:

"Jeff Carlton and his fishing partner, Rick Covington, arrived at the lodge mid-day, the day before their first schedule day of fishing. We asked if they wanted to fish a ½ of day on their day of arrival, which was not scheduled. Cecil their guide took them out and caught this nice size permit on Monday, October 20, 2014. Jeff caught him on an 8 wt. rod with a gotcha fly tied by his fishing partner. If you look closely you can see 2 bite marks from a shark that tried to bite him during the fight and the shark was no match for the permit even while hooked."
