Description

The Perdigon completely changed modern nymph fishing. Originally developed by competitive anglers in Spain, the pattern was designed with one goal in mind: get to the bottom as quickly as possible while maintaining a clean natural drift.

Everything about the fly reflects that philosophy. Sparse materials reduce drag, tungsten beads provide weight, and the slick resin-coated body cuts through current far faster than traditional bushier nymphs. The result is a fly that spends more time where trout actually feed.

While many Perdigons are highly impressionistic rather than exact imitations, that simplicity is part of what makes them so effective. They suggest small mayflies, midges, and general subsurface food sources while remaining incredibly efficient fishing tools.
