Description

A modern take on an absolute staple for any freshwater angler! These will be deadly all season long, starting with the first Mother's Day Caddis of the year, all the way into fall.

From the tyer:

"My Pheasant Tail X Caddis is tied to accomplish one purpose: to catch big, selectively feeding trout on Yellowstone Country’s spring creeks and rivers.

During a caddis emergence selective trout lock on, and feed exclusively on natural emerging caddis that are impaired/stillborn with their wings and/or bodies trapped in their pupal shucks. Then the Pheasant Tail X Caddis cannot be beaten!

I use pheasant tail fibers more than standard dubbings to imitate the bodies of these deadly dry fly patterns. The frilly nature of pheasant tail barbules trap air bubbles and naturally sparkle, closely imitating that of natural caddis flies. The thorax is designed and imitated by dubbing blends to closely imitate the color of natural insects escaping their nymphal or pupal shucks. These incredibly effective patterns will work for catching the most selectively feeding trout on the planet!"
