Satkowski’s Devil’s Tail is a roughly 5-inch predator streamer designed primarily for pike and other aggressive fish. The long synthetic tail gives the fly a ton of movement and side-to-side wiggle in the water, even with slower retrieves.
Despite its size, the synthetic materials help keep the fly relatively light and easy to cast. The profile pushes enough water to get noticed while still maintaining a clean baitfish shape that tracks well on strips and pauses.
This is a good searching fly for covering water around weed edges, drop-offs, and shallow structure where pike are actively feeding.
