Specializing in fishing opportunities for trophy brown trout and char, Fish Partner has access to some of the best lakes and rivers throughout the country. With the ability to arrange itineraries focusing on river options along with still water or lake fishing, Fish Partner can arrange itineraries based on angler’s preferences and allow the opportunity to see some of the largest brown trout and char available in Iceland. Accessing a combination of different watersheds and fishing scenarios, every day on the water with Fish Partner is different.
One of the key characteristics of Fish Partner’s fishing program is their exclusive access to some of the best beats on Lake Thingvallavatn, which has become world-renowned for delivering some of the best and most consistent fishing for the largest brown trout anywhere in the world. Coupled with some of the local rivers within the area, Fish Partner offers anglers the opportunities for very large, wild brown trout that rivals any trout fishery on the planet.
Fish Partner also has access to the Highlands region of Iceland, an area that is undeveloped, remote, and incredibly scenic. This unique area offers incredible landscapes, gin-clear water, and some of the best, untouched fishing in the country for brown trout and arctic char.
Finally, for anglers looking for other species and fishing scenarios, Fish Partner does have the ability to arrange for Atlantic salmon fishing, along with a superb sea-run brown trout fishery in the fall each season. No matter what an angler’s preferences might be, Fish Partner can develop a fishing itinerary and schedule that will deliver what you are looking to get out of the experience.
For most itineraries arranged with Fish Partner, it is recommended that anglers bring all of their own fishing gear with them to use during their stay. If you do need any rental equipment, please let Yellow Dog know beforehand and we can work with Fish Partner to arrange your gear prior to arrival. For equipment, 4-7 weight rods are ideal for most trout and char fishing scenarios. Floating lines are almost always used, but light sink tips can also be very helpful depending upon the fishing areas and conditions. Waders and non-felt boots are also recommended for any time of the season in Iceland.

Yellow Dog Client Reviews
“We loved Iceland and I think we maybe should have spent a little more time in just seeing the country, so much to see and do there. Next time we would plan more time to travel around the country. The fishing was great, the water was so clean and clear, we were sight fishing with nymphs to some fish, had some dry fly fishing and some streamer fishing so covered all the bases. I think that my physical limitations kept us from some good water but at this time I am not able to do a lot of steep climbing up and down hillsides and cliffs. My fault not there’s. We loved the fishing, the lodge and the people, Iceland is a fantastic place and a must-see, must-fish place for everyone.” – Harry and Becca M.
