Maintenance
The thunderhead is generally five stars for me, depending on how I'm using it. If I'm using it as a boatbag for the day to store backup gear, rain coat, a small camera bag, essentials, etc.. it is perfect. Bomb-proof and I trust the zipper system (Just make sure to clean it after use and lubricate or problems could arise). I also like the removable lumbar support that is good for hiking and the heavy-duty rod straps on the side. My only criticism of it is that I'd prefer an exterior pocket for things like phone, wallet, leader pouch, keys... Small items that don't take up much room. You CAN buy a pouch for the exterior, its just an additional purchase. There is a zippered pocket at the top of the bag's interior for said purpose, but its nice to have those small essentials in a completely separate pocket for me personally.
