Size Guide

Use your regular street shoe size when ordering wading boots - Simms wading boots are designed to accommodate the neoprene stockingfoot of the typical wader.

If you are a half size, then you should size up to the next full size. Women should size down for men's wading boots (ie: a women's USA shoe size 8 would take a men's wading boot size 7).

Care

After Use What to Do Why It Matters
Every session Rinse thoroughly with fresh water, including the neoprene lining, laces, and eyelets. Grit and residue left to dry accelerates wear on stitching, laces, and eyelets over time.
Between trips Air-dry fully out of direct sun before storing. Trapped moisture in the neoprene lining can lead to odor and premature breakdown.
Switching rivers or watersheds Rinse and fully dry before use in a different body of water. Helps prevent the spread of invasive species and pathogens between waterways.

FAQ

Who is this boot for?
The Access Boot is built for anglers who put in real trail miles to reach the water and don't want to trade support or traction for lighter weight. A dual-compound Vibram® outsole in Simms' G.O.A.T. (Grip On Aquatic Terrain) construction delivers serious grip for technical wades, a durable, lightweight TPU woven upper eliminates wet pick-up, and a high-cushion, self-draining EVA midsole keeps long days on foot comfortable. It suits guides and backcountry anglers logging several miles a day between runs, anglers who've outgrown the ankle support of a standard Flyweight-class boot, and anyone who wants guide-grade traction in a lighter package. Anglers who specifically want a felt sole for slick, algae-covered rock should look elsewhere.

What is G.O.A.T. (Grip On Aquatic Terrain) construction?
G.O.A.T. construction is Simms' term for the Access Boot's dual-compound Vibram build: a Vibram® Idrogrip Flex zone through the middle of the outsole for flexibility and comfort, paired with firmer Vibram® Idrogrip on the outsole edges for stability and grip on technical, uneven terrain -- unique to Simms.

How does this compare to the Simms Flyweight Wading Boot?
Both are lightweight, travel-friendly Simms boots with Vibram traction, but they're built around different priorities. The Access uses newer dual-compound G.O.A.T. construction (a flexible center zone plus firmer traction edges) and integrated sidewall drain holes, and several verified customer reviews describe it as an upgrade in ankle support and traction over the Flyweight while staying comparably light. The Flyweight, by contrast, is built specifically around minimizing pack weight for travel. Choose the Access for the most technical wading and the most trail miles. Choose the Flyweight when packability is the top priority.
