I changed from G4 Simms this fall for the reason of losing 25 lbs. The RS wading system is everything touted to be. A rugged boot with unparalleled grip without cleated studs, studs would make the grip even more assured, it has high ankle security also which was another selling point for me. The initial boot wear developed a squeak while hiking is the only noticeable thing. I’ve been on Calif rivers for some 45 years and felt stable with the RS. The fish don’t necessarily care how you look!; but the onsomble looks awesome too to bottom. The waders are a great fit with impingement free mobility and resistant to bush and abrasions as is the RS jacket. And after having had the complete G4 complete wader system, the RS system is easier on the pocket book. You’re gonna save about $200.
Great wading boots! I wore the RS Wading Boots with the Skwala Studs for two weeks in late June on the Gallatin, Henry’s Fork and Madison Rivers. Lightweight, great support, and excellent traction with the studs. Highly recommended.
