Ultra Wire is a strong, non-tarnishing copper wire that has become the industry standard for ribbing and body construction in fly tying. Manufactured by UTC, it’s available in multiple sizes and colors, giving tiers the ability to add durability, weight, segmentation, or subtle flash to nearly any pattern. Unlike standard craft wire, Ultra Wire is consistent in diameter, easy to wrap, and designed to withstand repeated use on the water without breaking or losing color.

Size Guide:

X-Small: Best for midges, tiny nymphs, and small dry flies. Adds segmentation without bulk.
Small: Ideal for standard nymphs and dry flies like Pheasant Tails, Hare’s Ears, or Copper Johns. A versatile all-around size.
Brassie: Slightly thicker than Small, designed for Brassie-style midges and slim-bodied nymphs that need a bit more weight and presence.
Medium: Great for larger nymphs, stoneflies, and streamers. Provides durability and a pronounced rib.
Large: Used for big streamers, saltwater patterns, and large stoneflies where extra weight and bold segmentation are needed.
