A Fly-Out Lodge in a League of its Own
Located 300 miles southwest of Anchorage in the Bristol Bay watershed, the Lodge sits directly on the banks of the Kvichak River. Several buildings comprise the Lodge, including the six-bedroom guest houses. Each bedroom offers two twin beds and a complete private bathroom. With an excellent view of the river, you can relax in your room after a long day of fishing, enjoy the comfortable Lodge with a full complimentary bar, or sit streamside in the jacuzzi.
All meals are prepared by a world-class chef. The lodge gladly accommodates any special needs with a little advance notice. Fresh bread, rolls, and desserts are prepared daily in the bakery. Select red and white wines are served with dinner, and the lodge offers a complimentary bar of high-grade liquors included in your package.
Typical Length of Stay
The standard package at No See Um is 7 nights / 6 fishing days (Monday to Monday).
Non-Angling Activities and Options
No See Um is primarily a fishing destination, but non-anglers can enjoy scenic flights, wildlife viewing, boat tours, Brooks Lodge bear viewing, and seasonal bird hunting.
Wi-Fi is available for guests. Cell phone service is not available.
How To Get There
Fly direct to the Anchorage International Airport (ANC) from the Lower 48 via several major airlines. The flight from Anchorage to King Salmon, Alaska (AKN) is included in your lodge package.
Arrival and Departure Details / Times
All No See Um trips run Monday through Monday. The Monday morning flight out of Anchorage to the Lodge departs at 3:00 P.M. through Katmai Air Taxi. The lodge books this portion of travel so anglers are only responsible for getting themselves to Anchorage. We recommend anglers arrive in Anchorage on Sunday to provide cushion time in the event of any delays or lost baggage through commercial airlines. On the return, anglers will arrive back in Anchorage around 12 P.M. the following Monday. We recommend anglers book their flights home for any time after 2 P.M.
Photo identification is required by airlines and to purchase your Alaska Fishing License. Licenses can be purchased at the lodge, or online prior to your trip by visiting the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Minors Traveling Without Both Parents
All children 18 years of age or younger accompanied by only one parent or legal guardian must have a NOTARIZED letter of consent from the other parent stating the child/children have his/her permission to travel. Single parents need NOTARIZED documentation of divorce or a spousal death certificate. Unaccompanied Minors require a NOTARIZED letter of consent signed by both parents.

Located in the greater Iliamna region, the fishing at No See Um Lodge changes almost daily. The small number of clients (a maximum of 10 per week) means that the guest-to-guide ratio is never more than 2:1, so you can be assured that no matter what your needs are, No See Um can and will accommodate them. Owner John Holman and his excellent team of pilots and guides give you the best options nightly so you can decide what you would like to experience the next day.
With two Beavers on floats for a maximum of only 10 guests, the planes stay with you each day while you’re fishing, ready to quickly pick up and move at a moment’s notice if the fishing, conditions, or weather dictate it. Very few lodges in Alaska offer this luxury! Also, since the lodge is located directly on the banks of the Kvichak River, you’ll never miss a day of fishing due to weather.
Boats and Equipment
No See Um offers three DeHavilland Beavers on floats and aluminum jet boats equipped with Yamaha jet motors. For accessing the trout regions of the Kvichak, the Lodge has three 22-foot inboard jet sleds equipped with heaters for your comfort. It is recommended that anglers bring all of their own gear including rods, reels, wading boots, although they are available at the lodge if you need to borrow.
Rates and Terms
Remember that Yellow Dog’s services are completely free! When you book a trip with Yellow Dog, you never pay more than when you book directly with the lodge or outfitter.

Yellow Dog Client Reviews
“This was a trip of a lifetime. Couldn’t have been better.” – Dennis C.
“This experience was a fishing trip of a lifetime. The lodge, planes, boats, staff, food, and the waters we fished were all first-rate. A small number of guests allowed to have some great social time as well after a day’s fishing. I can’t think of one thing I would have changed!” – Carl L.
“Incredible all-around experience. Fishing was great, but so was the attention to detail by NSL staff. My son is relatively new to fly fishing and all guides were extremely helpful, patient, and effective in their instruction.” – Rick F.
“It was one of the best fishing trips ever. Dream come true.” – Brett T.
“Was the very first “bucket list” trip I can recall wishing for when I was a child. Took 59 years to get there, but everything I imagined.” – Stacy M.
