Food and Beverages
No wilderness trip is complete without gourmet dutch oven cooking. Thoughtfully sourced ingredients and a wholesome, wellness-based menu blend together to ensure you’re feeling your best for all the action the week throws at you. With snacks on every boat, and three wholesome meals each day, you’ll be well stocked for the adventure. Not to mention the fully stocked camp bar with top shelf liquors and premium wines.
Typical Length of Stay
All trips are 5 nights with 6 days on the water. Trip-goers will need to arrive in Salmon, Idaho the night prior to their launch date. On the morning of the launch, guests are shuttled to the Salmon Airport to embark on an unforgettable 30-minute flight into the Indian Creek landing strip right on the river. At trips end, most out-of-state guests will need to overnight again in either Salmon or Idaho Falls, and fly out of Idaho Falls the next morning.
Non-Angling Activities and Options
Spending your days braving whitewater and your evenings playing games, or telling stories around the campfire will bring your family closer than ever. It’s amazing how quickly the lack of electronics and everyday distractions begin to relax the whole family and create new and fun conversations. A river trip truly offers a unique opportunity to bring families together. Your sense of adventure and serenity will grow throughout the trip. While parents are enjoying a good book or a nice hike after an exciting day on the river, children will enjoy time to explore, swim, or play games under the fun and careful supervision of the guides. For the active soul there is never a shortage of things to do along the river. When not paddling, fishing, or swimming, there is an endless wilderness to explore. The river trail provides a nice walking or running avenue from camp most evenings, and there is often a mountain ascent available straight from camp. Natural hot springs also populate the Middle Fork Salmon corridor and they usually have opportunity on a trip to stop and soak. Pictographs (rock art) from the Native American Sheepeater Tribe still line the canyon walls. You’ll have opportunity to try your hand at interpreting the stories they left behind. Stories and legends abound in this canyon. From Sheepeater times to early homesteaders and miners, there are relics of the past that leave their indelible imprint on the history of this special place. Private charter trips will have the option of adding specialty components like a yoga instructor, musician, or massage therapist. Nothing beats starting your day with a limbering yoga routine at sunrise, and polishing off your day with a relaxing massage session. Inquire about booking a private charter for your group.
Internet / Communications
There is no internet or cell reception while on the river. The outfitter does carry inReach satellite communicators for emergencies.
